1. Start with a refreshing shower where you may want to incorporate exercise 1. After drying, apply Crystalline Ruby Body lotion, a thirst-quenching moisturiser for your skin, charged with activated Ruby microgems to energise your chakras.

2. Wrap yourself in your favourite dressing gown or towel and relax in your specially prepared pamper area. As in exercise 1, start by concentrating on your breathing, but this time, breath in deeply and slowly through your nose and out through your mouth. With each breath, imagine how you ‘breath in love’ and ‘breath out peace’. Allow this feeling of peace that you are now consciously creating to expand all through your body.

3. Try ‘sending’ it to where it is needed, for example if you have any area of physical discomfort, direct it there; if you are dealing with emotional upset in life, direct peace to that area and so on.

4. Carry on until you start to feel relaxed and centred and the thinking in your head slows down. At that point allow yourself to drift away to your favourite place, your vision of paradise. This could be a wild flower meadow, a beach on a tropical island or wherever your dream takes you. Visualise how you are exploring this place and how your body and mind absorb the soothing and energising feel of your personal paradise.

5. When you feel it is time to return, take a couple of deep breath, gently move your hands and feet. Have a stretch and in your own time, focus your attention back into the here and now.

6. Finish off your self-pampering session with a glass of cool water.

Here’s a great exercise to help combat Christmas stress by removing the effect other people’s expectations have on us.

As with previous exercises, create your own wellbeing space in the house.

1. Lie down and make sure that you are nice and warm, ready to relax. As in exercise 1, close your eyes, concentrate on your breathing and calm down your mind. Then visualise a large brilliant white flame in front of you. large enough for you to stand in.

2. Step into the flame and visualise how you are gently being cleansed. Visualise how the flame gently removes feelings of stress, exhaustion or expectations other people have put onto you.

3. Consciously feel where the tense areas are in your body and direct the flame there, if you need the flame to be stronger or weaker, just ‘adjust’ the intensity through your visualisation. Now check whether you were putting any pressure onto yourself. You are a wonderful being as you are and now can let go of any of this unnecessary pressure.  Simply imagine you are carrying the expectations on yourself in heavy bags.

4. Put the bags down and let the flame transform them into pure white light.

5. Visualise how you now feel light and free, moving your arms and neck around, being able to walk forward with a spring in your step. Step out of your flame and take a couple of deep breaths, breathing in love for yourself and breathing out calmness and serenity.

Well, not long now until our well deserved Christmas break!  Friends, family, indulgent food and presents; what more could we want?  Well, how about a stress-free run-up to Christmas?

Juggling family and work priorities, endless shopping trips, menu planning, card writing, present wrapping and the hundred other pre-celebration jobs often requires military precision, leaving little time to reflect on what it’s really about and certainly no time for ourselves.

The effect is exhausting. Everybody around us seems to expect perfection and we end up drained and shattered, ready to collapse into a heap under the tree. This state of exhaustion is not just physical, but also related to how energised and balanced our Chi energy system is. This system can be thought of as a network of energy centres and lines connecting your physical body to a subtle field of energy which surrounds you. By maintaining a healthy and well balanced Chi system, we aid our emotional and physical wellbeing and increase our resilience to stress and exhaustion.  We’ll talk about this energy system later, but for now, have yourselves a great Christmas, I know I shall!

My last blog gave you some background, so now let’s look at something very real which helped transform my own life … my own transition to the world of complementary therapy was triggered by the sort of life event that at the time seemed to be pure chance, but with hindsight it was just meant to be.

Picture the scene; late in the evening, half-way through a major product launch and, as part of the senior management team at the UK’s only true luxury sports car manufacturer, there was much more work required to meet exacting quality standards for a customer base hungry for their latest model, yet so little time.

My stress levels were high, as were those of my team.  I had a knot in my stomach, felt burnt out on the inside and was convinced that the entire world was on my shoulders.  I knew that I had to take some time out and booked a massage hoping it would help.  Not knowing much about the subject, the ‘massage’ turned out to be a Reiki treatment, where the healer acts as a channel for healing energy drawn in by the client – hardly a concept my “business focused brain” could readily understand, but thought an hour’s relaxation on the therapy couch would certainly help!

With my sceptical head firmly in place I was expecting nothing extraordinary so imagine my surprise when I suddenly felt a real pain in my stomach followed by a warm tingling sensation despite the healer not actually touching me! The amazing sensation of the knot disappearing with a sharp pain followed by a tingly current running up and down my body was most remarkable. I felt great afterwards and even though I could not comprehend what had happened, my curiosity was awakened and through the experience on that day I had inadvertently and unknowingly taken the first step towards my new life.

At the end of the treatment the healer explained what she had done, however, none of the concepts (chakras, auras, meridians) and their link to wellbeing made any sense to me then. Today they are an integral part of my life and eventually led me to focusing entirely on setting up and running my own complementary therapy centre.

Here’s a great exercise to help you get the taste of getting in touch with your ‘inner self’.  First, create a relaxing atmosphere in your favourite part of your home; if you like candles, light a couple and dim the lights. Make some space where you can lie down comfortably. Start your pampering by having a short warm shower. As the warm water runs over your body, close your eyes and start to concentrate on your breathing, if any thoughts enter your head, just refocus on the feeling of the warm water on your skin and your calm, deep and rhythmical breath. Start to relax and let the sensation of the water on your skin become more and more intense, consciously focussing on the warm, soothing and caressing feeling on your body as the water gently washes away the effects of a busy day.

To amplify this cleansing process try Crystalline Topaz Body wash, allowing the specially charged Topaz microgems to gently remove the finger-prints from your Chi energy system.  Imagine how the weight of any events, stresses and tensions from work, travel, family or life in general is lifted off you.  Concentrate on you; put the thoughts of other people to the back of your mind, you can get back to them later.  Just imagine how everything else drifts into the background and focus on you, the feeling of the water on your skin and your deep, calm breath.  Allow the water and your breathing to calm your emotions, creating a feeling of peace and tranquillity inside.

Step out of the shower and dry off.  While you’re warmly cocooned, lightly spritz Crystalline Sapphire Body oil over your skin and gentle massage it in to create the most amazing silky skin whilst letting the sapphire microgems do their magic to your Chi energy field.  Relax for 10 minutes with your thoughts still focussed on you, allowing the sensuous fragrance to envelop you.  Slowly drift your thoughts back to the here-and-now but retain that quite inner vision as you prepare for what lies ahead.

Hi, I'm Larynn and welcome to my Crystalline Skincare blog!  Let me explain about Crystalline and what’s behind it, particularly the crystal bit!  For the last 5 years I’ve run a complementary therapy centre in the UK Midlands which helps people with a wide range of problems, I also practise at the prestigious Hale Clinic in London W1 and seasonally as a visiting consultant at the luxurious Chive-Som resort in Thailand.

My therapies are all based on the concept of Chi energy, believed by many to be the ‘universal energy of life’, in other words it’s what brings life to all living beings.  Chi  is part of all of us and the way it flows inside and around our bodies is believed to contribute greatly to our well-being.  When we’re unwell, uneasy, or just plain ‘not right’ it's often our Chi energy balance which needs attention.  Of course the wonders of modern medicine can do great things for our physical bodies but often it’s our ‘inner self’ which also needs help.  And this is where my therapies start.  Just as with conventional care, where the initial consultation decides what is amiss with the patient before prescribing drugs or surgery, my therapy methods start  by identifying any ‘energetic’ imbalance within the client.  This helps me see the true ‘root cause’ of the client’s problems, and often this has little to do with the client’s actual symptoms.  Next, I use healing crystals to help correct the Chi energy flow within and around the client, and at the same time help the client to identify and take the life-steps which help often improve their resilience to the problem re-occurring.  Sounds confusing?  Well, let’s just say that they have a profound effect on my clients!

Many times I see the outward effect on my clients as what I could describe as a kind of radiance.  The client hasn’t changed their physical appearance but they seem to radiate a health and vitality that they and their friends also notice.  So how can we achieve this same radiance, which, after all is the foundation of our true beauty?  We’ve all seen how skincare and cosmetics alone can often struggle to achieve this, so what’s the answer?

The answer is more than skin-deep, we need a beauty range which can not only help do the very best for our skin, but also impart that magical ‘inner beauty’ to our Chi energy flow.  Crystalline does both these things; it contains activated gemstones and crystals for the ‘inner self’ infused into a luxurious skincare system for our ‘outer image’.  Our advanced anti-ageing formulations are packed with modern naturally-derived bio-marine extracts and botanicals as well as ancient healing herbs from the Amazon and the Andes.

I  passionately believe there are many simple things we can incorporate into our busy lives to directly and positively influence the way we feel and look, and over the coming months I will be sharing some of these with you in the form of simple exercises which you can do to supplement your beauty regime and transform your appearance and wellbeing!
